“If You Can Think It, We Can Make It”: Inside Bee Creationz’ Veteran-Owned Love Story

She’s a Wasco local with deep roots. He’s a Bronx-and-Brooklyn-raised Navy veteran. Together, they’re the duo behind Bee Creationz—a veteran-owned, family-built business creating custom awards, handcrafted gifts, and meaningful pieces across Kern County and beyond.

Their story didn’t start in a workshop—it started with a swipe.

“We actually met on Bumble…the very reasoning behind our name Bee Creationz,” Angie says.

Reflecting on the contrast of their worlds, Chris says, “Kern County is very different from where I grew up in the Bronx and Brooklyn. I love being in a small town and being able to just drive to Bakersfield if I want something in a city.”

That blend—big city meets small-town living—became the foundation for everything they’re building together.

And it all began with a hobby.

“It started as a family hobby,” Angie says. “We wanted to show our son how to do woodworking and work with his hands because kids spend so much time on video games or watching TV. We wanted him to have something he could really create with.”

What followed was more than just a project—it became connection.

“We started making things together and fell in love with it,” she says. “It gave us time together as a family. Even after he grew up and joined the Navy, Chris and I kept going. We kept creating, sharing our work on Instagram, and people really started connecting with what we do. It brought us closer too, and now it feels like there are endless possibilities.”

Chris adds what that evolution meant from his perspective. “Having the family business actually makes the family stronger and closer together.”

Today, Bee Creationz reflects that same spirit—creative, personal, and rooted in intention.

“We make all kinds of things,” Angie says. “We do awards, cutting boards, closing gifts for realtors, home signs—really, a little bit of everything.”

And if you have an idea, they’re already halfway there.

“A lot of times people will DM me and ask, ‘Can you make this?’” Angie says. “They’ll send us inspiration photos, and we’ll go from there. Our whole mindset is: if you can think it, we can make it. We love helping bring people’s visions to life.”

That mindset is backed by discipline and service.

Chris served in the Navy as an AM aviation mechanic and Search and Rescue aircrewman—a background that continues to shape the way they approach their craft today, with precision, pride, and purpose.

“Being veteran-owned is something we’re really proud of,” Angie says.

Back home, Wasco remains at the heart of it all.

“I was born in Texas, but I was raised in Wasco my whole life,” Angie says. “I’ve been here since before I could walk, so I’m definitely small-town through and through.”

And it’s the people who make it.

“I love the people. I love how close everyone is. Wasco feels safe. It feels like a good place to raise your kids, and I’m really grateful I got to grow up here.”

When it comes to stepping out, they balance each other—just like everything else.

“I don’t have a favorite place to eat,” Chris says. “I just love going to new and different restaurants to try them out.”

Angie knows exactly where she’s headed.

“I love Catrina’s Mexican Grill & Cantina,” she says. “That’s probably my favorite because I can grab a margarita there too.”

And when it’s time to get away, their story circles back to where it all began.

“Definitely Venice Beach,” Angie says. “That’s where me and Chris had our first date, so it’ll always be special to me.”

Different paths. Different backgrounds. One shared vision.

At Bee Creationz, they’re not just building products—they’re building a life together. One rooted in love, shaped by service, and strengthened through creativity.

And in their words, it’s simple.

“I love having this family business because it turned a hobby into a business and brought the family closer together through creativity,” Chris says.
